The City of Springfield Currently requires retailers selling tobacco and tobacco-related products to apply for a sales license and follow the regulations outlined in Springfield Codified Ordinance 1721.  This includes, but is not limited to, prohibiting sales of tobacco and tobacco-related products to people under the age of 21.

License Application

A retail license is currently $150 per year, and a retailer must apply annually.  This ordinance and license also requires retailers to check IDs for all tobacco-related sales.

Compliance Checks

CCCHD will perform compliance checks on facilities within Springfield City limits annually.  Fines for non-compliance is $500 for the first offense.  If you have concerns about a retailer within Springfield City limits, please call 937-390-5600 to file a complaint.
